Castaic High School Site Selection - Santa Clarita, CA:  Lund and Associates served as the Civil Engineer to provide an engineering analysis and site assessment for two potential school sites in Castaic, California for the William S. Hart Union High School District.  The sites evaluated required approximately 50-acre graded pad areas designed to meet DSA and Los Angeles County requirements for accessibility, fire safety, and grading code compliance.  The project scope included preparation of conceptual grading plans, on-site and off-site street and utility design, and hydrology and hydraulic design and analysis for existing blue line floodways impacted by the proposed project sites.

Hart High School – Newhall, CA: Civil Engineer teamed with Flewelling and Moody Architects for improvements to the Hart High School campus in Newhall, including a new science building and band room and associated parking lot and street improvements.

UCLA Royce Hall Data Center – Los Angeles, CA: Lund and Associates provided Surveying and Civil Engineering services for the proposed Royce Hall HP Performance-Optimized Data Center (POD) Project.  Scope included topographic survey, subsurface utility detection, and construction document improvement plans and specifications.

UCLA Fernald Center Drainage Improvements – Los Angeles, CA: Lund and Associates provided Surveying and Civil Engineering services to provide retrofit drainage improvements to address flooding issues within the existing Fernald Center educational facilities.  Scope included topographic survey and construction document improvement plans and specifications.


City of Fillmore – Business Park Community Facilities District:  Civil Engineer for preparation of plans, specifications, estimates and supporting documents for all public improvements required for the City's 90-acre business park in southwestern Fillmore.  Public street design incorporated Low Impact Development approach for storm water quality management and use of reclaimed water for landscape irrigation.   

Potrero Heights Community Center – Montebello, CA:  Civil Engineer teamed with Lehrer Architects for the development of a public community center for the Montebello Park District.  Project incorporated innovative design elements such as a terraced slope area to provide natural amphitheater type seating and the retrofit of passive storm water quality treatment devices into the existing parking/street areas to meet water quality requirements.

Los Angeles County Fire Dept. Training Center – Del Valle, CA: Civil Engineer for preparation of drainage study, storm water quality management plan, and erosion control measures associated with improvements to the Del Valle Training Center.

City of Fillmore – Southwest Business Park Master Plan: Civil Engineer for conceptual design of all public infrastructure improvements as part of the City’s master plan for the Southwest Business Park in Fillmore.  Improvements include streets, utilities, and soil-cement levees and buried bank lining.  The scope included preparation of construction cost estimates to be used as a cost basis for an assessment district established for the area.


Zurich – Paramount Town Center:  Civil Engineer for civil improvements required for the redevelopment of an existing retail shopping center in the City of Paramount.  Project required partial demolition of some existing buildings and creation of one new building pad as well as parking lot reconstruction and reconfiguration.

Plaza El Segundo Shopping Center – El Segundo, CA: Civil Engineer for civil improvements required for the development of a LEED certified high-end retail shopping center in El Segundo.  The project is located on a brownfield site formerly developed as a chemical processing plant.  Coordination with the State Regional Board was required related to soils contamination issues and incorporation of required vapor extraction systems.


Sespe Creek Properties – Tract 5803:  Civil Engineer for planning and entitlements, conceptual design, and mapping for an 18-acre industrial park development.  Project scope included tentative and final parcel maps, City and Caltrans dedications and easements, and conceptual grading and utility design.

PacTen Partners – Perry Ranch – Phase 1 Business Park:  Civil Engineer for public infrastructure improvements required for an 8-acre business park in the City of Fillmore.  Improvements included precise grading, storm drains, utilities, and storm water quality treatment swales and basins. 

Summerland Partners – Medical Office Building, Moorpark, CA: Civil Engineer for mapping, condominium plans, and all on-site and off-site civil improvements required for the development of a 55,000 square-foot medical office building on a 4-acre site in the City of Moorpark.  This site required an unconventional drainage solution to satisfy City and County requirements as the existing site was significantly below street grade.  The project also required processing off-site street improvement plans through CALTRANS.

Empire Center Office Building, Burbank, CA: Responsible for design of all on-site and off-site civil improvements required for the development of a LEED Certified seven story office building and parking structure on a 6.5-acre brownfield site in the City of Burbank.  This project was designed to accommodate a FEMA floodway passing through the site between the structures.  Project achieved LEED Gold certification level.


KDF – Perry Ranch Industrial Park: Civil Engineer for public infrastructure improvements required for a 27-acre industrial park in the City of Fillmore.  Improvements included streets, storm drains, utilities, and storm water quality treatment swales and basins.  Close coordination was required with the City and design/build contractor responsible for concurrent construction of the City’s wastewater treatment plant within the same tract.

Burns Pacific – Industrial Subdivision Tract 5147, Moorpark, CA: Civil Engineer for design of all public infrastructure and private improvements and final mapping services for a 17-lot industrial subdivision on a 35-acre site in the City of Moorpark.  Streets for this project were designed per Ventura County Road Standards and required coordination with the City’s future Highway 118 bypass project, which pass through the project site.  Portions of the project site are located within an existing FEMA floodplain, requiring processing a letter of map revision through FEMA.

Self Storage Facilities, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, CA: Civil Engineer for on-site and off-site improvements required for the development of numerous self storage facilities in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties for clients including T. Viole Construction, Store Safe, and Extra Space Storage.  Typical projects include survey, any required mapping or lot line adjustments, street dedications, and improvement plans for grading, drainage, utilities, and street design.


KDF – Sunrise Terrace I & II, Hesperia, CA: Civil Engineer for preliminary design concepts and subsequently all on-site and off-site survey and civil improvements required for the development of a 13-building apartment complex on a 10-acre site in the City of Hesperia.  This was an affordable housing project done in partnership with the City of Hesperia and KDF Communities.  Flooding and storm water quality impacts were mitigated by retaining 100% of storm water runoff using a stormtech chamber underground retention system. 

KDF – The Village, Hesperia, CA: Civil Engineer for on-site and off-site survey and civil improvements required for the development of an apartment complex on an 11-acre site in the City of Hesperia.  This was an affordable housing project done in partnership with the City of Hesperia and KDF Communities.  This project was originally design by another firm; our firm was enlisted to redesign the site implementing value engineering principles to address constructability and budget issues. 

Summerland Partners – Renaissance Villas Apartments, Granada Hills, CA: Civil Engineer for design of all on-site and off-site civil improvements required for the development of a 5-building apartment complex on a 7-acre site in the Granada Hills area of the City of Los Angeles.  This project involved steep terrain and hillside grading conditions with difficult site constraints.  The project also required obtaining zone change clearances and processing a street vacation through the City.

Olson Company – Tentative Maps: Civil Engineer for preparation of conceptual engineering and tentative mapping services for various single family and multi-family residential developments in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
